The Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine (TsDAGO of Ukraine) was founded in July 1929 under the title of the United Party Archives (UPA) of the Party History Institute and Ukrainian October Revolution at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

After proclamation of independence of Ukraine in 1991 the Party Archives received a status of the State Archives and its modern profiling.

In August 27, 1991 according to the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Ukraine Party Archives documents were submitted to the Main Archival Administration under to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine was established in October 25, 1991 by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the base of former Party Archives.

  • 1929-1939 рр. – the United Party Archives of the Party History Institute and Ukrainian October Revolution under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine;
  • 1939-1945 рр. – the Central Party Archives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine;
  • 1945-1991 рр. – the Party Archives of the Party History Institute under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine as branch of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism attached to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR;
  • March – October, 1991 – the Archives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine under the Political Research Institute of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine;
  • From October 25, 1991 up to now – The Central State Archives of Public Organizations of Ukraine.
